After running some errands in Show Low, we headed southeast through Eagar & Springerville and then south towards Alpine, Arizona. Although “Alpine” might seem like an odd name for a town in Arizona we were snowed on during our drive so it all seemed rather normal! It’s located at 8,000′ in the San Francisco Mountains of eastern Arizona.
During our whole drive it was either threatening to rain, snow, or hail while flashes of lightning lit up the sky. Although the weather was cold and a bit bleak, it was quite beautiful and dramatic.
