San Francisco Mountains, Part 2

Moving north along Saddle Mountain Road, we made camp and then headed up to the lookout on Saddle Mountain. At 8,340′ we had a great view out into New Mexico!

I even did a little blogging from the peak since I had 4G there!

After visiting the lookout, we headed back to camp and F went shed hunting. Just before getting back to camp, he found our first antler of 2014. Can you spot it?

A little further down the line, we hunted for antlers again. Here’s Sprocket helping his Daddy check out the meadow:

We did find one more shed before leaving the pretty San Franciscos and dropping back down onto US 180. It was such a pretty detour through the mountains, I’m so glad we found it!
